    FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Gartrell Johnson reached 1,000 yards for the first time in his career, running for 127 yards and a touchdown as Colorado State defeated New Mexico 20-6 today. Rodney Ferguson ran for 85 yards and Brad Gruner passed for 204 yards on 23-of-39 completions for New Mexico (4-8, 2-6), which lost its fourth straight. The Lobos hadn't lost four in a row since 1998 and will miss postseason play for the second time in seven years.

      WASHINGTON — Gov. Bill Richardson went out on a political limb earlier this year when he threw his support to Barack Obama instead of Hillary Clinton during their contentious primary election battle.
